Tuesday morning…. 5 days after surgery

Joe and Georgia went away together for the day and all the boys are with the grandparents at the zoo for the morning. It’s been a nice morning for me to be alone and rest. I FINALLY got the tubing out of my neck!!!! Y’all have no idea how HAPPY I was to say goodbye to that scary thing!  Since surgery lasted 9 hours, the breathing tube that was down my throat caused some vocal cord damage.  Not sure to what extent. When I try to sing a song like Jesus loves me, I can only get out the notes for maybe 1/3 of the song. This morning the doctors told me I’m not allowed to talk for awhile. If the voice box is able to rest  it should help the healing process.  So if you are calling my phone, more than liking I’m caller ID’ing you.  I’m saving my talking for the kids and joe so I can say things like GEORGIA ANNE go to your bedroom and wait for your father to come in and spank you!!

Little side note on Georgia. She is sweet at butter but she has a stronger will than my other kids. She has been directly disobeying the grandparents each day as we have been gone. This morning at breakfast I heard grand daddy tell her the following:  Georgia, turn around in your chair……….. Georgia please turn around in your chair…………….. Georgia, I’m going to ask you 1 more time please turn around in your chair………… ok Georgia, you are going to come sit on the couch until you are going to obey…….. Georgia, get back on that couch……. Georgia, I said get back on that couch….  I was mad as fire at that girl. what is she thinking!??!!! At about the time I’m walking down the hallway, holding my head in place with my hands, Joe came flying out of the shower telling her to go to her bedroom and wait for daddy. Pretty sure Georgia didn’t know we could hear her from the back of the house.  Now that we are home, she’s getting some good old fashioned HARD spankings to get her back on track. She lost the zoo trip today and instead is driving around with Joe. I hated taking the zoo away from her! But there are 2 things that don’t fly in this house, direct disobedience and lying. Those two things will always get you a spanking from Joe, even if you are an adult…

As I was waking up this morning I was thinking, oh great another day……. basically laying there feeling sorry for myself. A few minutes later Joe came in the bedroom. He wanted to read an email to me from Frank Partridge, the head security man from CCC with a poem attached. Mr Partridge was also a great Bible teacher. Joe read it to me several times this morning….  a little bit of manna straight from heaven for this day:)

 My Grace Is Sufficient For Thee

Oppressed with unbelief and sin,

Fightings without, and fears within;

While earth and hell, with force combined,

Assault and terrify my mind.

What strength have I against such foes,

Such hosts and legions to oppose?

Alas! I tremble, faint, and fall,

 Lord save me, or I give up all.

Thus sorely pressed I sought the Lord,

To give me some sweet cheering word;

Again I sought, and yet again,

I waited long, but not in vain.

O! ’twas a cheering word indeed!

Exactly suited to my need;

Sufficient for thee is my grace,

Thy weakness my great pow’r displays.

Now despond and mourn no more,

I welcome all I feared before;

Though weak I’m strong, though troubled blest,

 For Christ’s own pow’r shall on me rest.

My grace would soon exhausted be, But his is boundless as the sea;

Then let me boast with holy Paul, That I am nothing, Christ is all.
